ICUMSA 600–1200 (Raw/Brown Sugar)
ICUMSA 600–1200 sugar is a raw brown cane sugar grade produced from the first crystallization of sugar cane juice. It is darker in colour (brown to golden brown) compared with refined white sugars because it retains a significant portion of the natural molasses, which gives it a richer flavour and a higher mineral content. Unlike highly refined white sugar, ICUMSA 600–1200 is typically used in industrial food processing, baking, confectionery, beverages, and as a commodity raw material for further refining into higher grades.
Industry | Use Case |
|---|---|
Sugar Refineries | Primary raw material for producing ICUMSA 45, ICUMSA 100, and other refined white sugar grades |
Ethanol Production | Fermentation feedstock for fuel and industrial ethanol |
Industrial Food Processing | Large-scale food manufacturing where refined white sugar is not mandatory |
Distilleries | Base material for alcoholic beverage production |
Animal Feed | Molasses-rich component in livestock feed formulations |
